Back to Normal in 2022

We’ve had an absolutely flying start to the 2022 season! After practically 2 virtual cheer seasons, riddled with lock downs, restrictions, and other challenges, we’ve been met with an incredibly normal pre-season in 2022. Amongst the regular team bonding activities, choreography, and events, our International All-Girl 6 team Kelly Girls even managed to make it across international waters to sunny Orlando Florida, for the World Cheerleading Championships. Kelly’s boarded the plane in mid-April ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Our girls had been training for this trip throughout multiple lockdowns and restrictions in Melbourne and had competed at the Virtual World Cheerleading Championships in 2021, placing first in their division. Since then, the team had worked tirelessly with fierce determination to go back-to-back at the in-person event in April 2022.

The lead up had its fair share of challenges and tribulations and after an incredible run on Day 1 were in first place, but after a less than wonderful Day 2, they came away with fifth place, and a burning desire to come back and put their best on the floor a year earlier than was initially planned.

We are beyond proud of their incredible journey, tenacity and love for what they do, and we know that everything happens for a reason, so we were so excited to announce Kelly’s would be going back to Worlds in 2023 to hopefully have 2 strong days of competition.

While our Kelly Girl’s were overseas, the rest of our program across both Queensland & Victoria went through team bonding events and choreography sessions in preparation for our in-house event, First Shootout and our first competition, AASCF Winterfest. Team bonding events give athletes the chance to form friendships outside of the gym and over this time we have teams meet for fun events such as scavenger hunts, movie nights, team dinners, laser tag, bowling competitions and so much more!

We also had our choreography sessions over the Easter break, and we would love to give a massive shout out to all of our coaches for continuously challenging themselves and consistently pushing their creative boundaries to form beautiful, dynamic, competitive routines.

We're so excited to see what the competition season holds for us in 2022, and want to thank every single one of our members for joining us on the journey.
